One artist. One day. One take. Infinite possibilities.
One-Shot was a web-based, solo performance relay, which I created, curated, and produced. The series (currently closed) was produced in collaboration with the Gibney Dance Center, and installments #21-27 were curated and produced by Aaron Mattocks, while I was on maternity leave from the project. One-Shot explored our evolving relationship to the Internet during a specific cultural moment – that liminal space when Friendster gave way to Facebook. The project investigated the irony of technology that it is both a conduit and a barrier to communication, and what it means to be “alone” in a media culture.
